From October 2012 to March 2013, Create, the national development agency for collaborative arts curated a series of talks and lectures in partnership with the MA in Social Practice and the Creative Environment (MA SPACE),  in Limerick School of Art and Design.

Read about the 2013/14 talk series here.

Lecturers Sean Taylor and Marilyn Lennon who run the MA Space Programme approached Create as they were interested in programming a series of talks/ one hour lectures that challenge and provoke the students, and reflect the ways in which different disciplines espouse philosophies and ideologies which may impact on art and design. The guest lecturers are drawn from a broad spectrum of disciplines with different areas of expertise. The aim of the guest lecture programme is to broaden postgraduates’ outlook on the ways their future work might impact on society or indeed differing views on how society and fluctuating economies will influence what they might do in the realm of art and design. Speakers in 2012/13 included set and theatre designer John Comiskey, social scientist Dr Pauline Conroy and theatremaker Dylan Tighe.
