'My life is plastic tubing…' - part of The TRANSPLANT Log

Transplant
Public talk on Tuesday, 27th April, 2010 at 6pm
Workshop on Wednesday, 28th April, 2010 10am to 4pm

WHAT in collaboration with Create, the national development agency for collaborative arts and ArtLinks, will host a Public Talk and a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) day for artists and arts managers currently working in health contexts in April based on the learning from a ground-breaking arts and health project entitled Transplant.

Transplant was a year-long residency involving sound-artist John Wynne and photographer Tim Wainwright at Harefield Hospital, England, which looked at the impact of heart and lung transplants on patients, and led to a major installation which was exhibited in Harefield Hospital and Beldam Gallery in London in 2009. Click here for the audio-visual TRANSPLANT Log.

Tim Wainwight, John Wynne and Arts and Health Manager Victoria Hume will give a public talk about the project on 27th April in the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland in the grounds of Waterford Regional Hospital.

This will be followed by a CPD workshop for artists and arts managers on 28th April in the WHAT Centre for Arts and Health.

Admission is 40 euro (which includes admission to public talk and lunch) / 35 euro for Create Associates. Admission for the talk only is 5 euro. Preference booking will be given to artists and arts managers currently working in healthcare contexts.

As part of our organisational remit to support continuing professional development, Create schedules a number of workshops annually. Workshops are offered to associates at a reduced fee. For information on becoming an associate please click here.
