This is the first year that the Arts Council has provided a €10k bursary award as part of the Artist in the Community Scheme, managed by Create.

The Artist in the Community Scheme Bursary Award 2010 - Arts and Older People aims to support individual professional artists in any artform working in the field of arts and older people.

Designed to support and nurture the professional development of individual arts practitioners collaborating with older people, the Bursary Award of €10,000 will provide an artist with the time and resources to think, research, reflect and engage with their art practice.
