1. Watch Shared Spaces: Making Performance with and about Marginalised Communities

Katherine Atkinson, Professional Development, Create, chairs a session at IETM Dublin called Shared Spaces: Making Performance with and about Marginalised Communities.

Panellists include Theatremaker, Dylan Tighe; playwright & novelist Gabriel Gbadamosi; playwright & theatremaker Rosaleen McDonagh, Owen Boss of ANU Productions, Gary Keegan, of Brokentalkers and Elli Papakonstantinou, ODC Ensemble

This session introduces the work of artists collaborating with marginalised communities, showcases their working methods and examines questions around ethics, identity, audience and responsibility in order to open up discussion and interrogate how best to represent the complex realities of today's world.

Shared Spaces: Making Performance with and about Marginalised Communities took place on 12 April at The Ark, Dublin as part of Dublin IETM 2013

IETM Dublin 2013 was an initiative of the Arts Council of Ireland in partnership with Culture Ireland, produced by Project Arts Centre and supported by Dublin City Council and Fáilte Ireland. It was part of both the Arts Council’s and Culture Ireland's Culture Programme to mark Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

2. Watch Fearghus Ó Conchúir, Cure: Supper, 2 May as part of Dublin Dance Festival in partnership with Create

On the 2nd May just before the Dublin Dance Festival, dancer and choreographer Fearghus Ó Conchúir hosted a supper for twenty people as an occasion for conversation across disciplines and cultures in relation to the theme of ‘recovery’ – central to his new work Cure programmed as part of Dublin Dance Festival 2013 May 15-16). This collective enquiry gave the guests present a chance to explore their own understanding of recovery, to gain insight into the ideas and artistic processes of Cure’s creation and to inform Fearghus in the crucial final rehearsal period before the show’s premiere.
